![]() A set of training wheels on a bicycle is a classic example of scaffolding. You have 2 free articles left this month. By scaffolding the teacher is building a support system of initial knowledge before allowing the students to stand alone and work by themselves. By bridging the gap between youngsters reading levels and the reading goals for their inclusive classes, Scaffolded Reading Experiences help all students get the most out of what they read. The teacher would then 'fade' away and allow the students to work independently and only offer assistance if requested from the student. For them to succeed, you must take your hands off and let the child figure it out on their own. Prepare to let go: Your job is to instruct the student so that they can accomplish something without help. Once they have a grasp on the concept, let them begin teaching themselves. The teacher would repeat this process a few times and then give the students problems to work on themselves. Scaffolding is all about lifting them up so they can reach new levels. The teacher would also ask the students questions and give positive feedback on all answers whether they are correct or incorrect. When introducing a new type of math problem the teacher would write the problem on the board and solve it themselves, explaining each step in the process aloud. Scaffolding is a meta-programming method of building database-backed software applications. Three modes of representation are to be used during the instructor's initial explanation: actions, images, and language.Īn example of scaffolding could be seen in a math classroom. a platform or framework for raising workers and materials during the erection, repair, or maintenance of a building or the like. This theory, developed by Jerome Bruner in the late 1950's, is based on the idea that when students receive instruction and support during a new concept they are more likely to successfully grasp and use the concept independently. After a few initial explanations the instructor will then remove themselves from the students and only offer help when needed. ![]() Cazden (1983) defined a scaffold as a temporary framework for construction in progress (p. It also brings some great color to the space. That beautiful vintage tool box became the perfect way to hide all of the cords and hoses from the washer and dryer. Some were in storage and some were just around the house. The rest of the decor were all items I had. I could have kept the remaining money and come in under budget, however, I found that cute little woven basket and knew it would be perfect under my sink! So I grabbed that too, and came back to put my laundry room all together again. Vicki and I went shopping and found this pretty little farmhouse cage pendant on clearance for $11.99! Whoohoo! I was so excited! (Find a similar one HERE) In the beginning we were also going to DIY a light fixture, but after speaking with my dad (who is an electrician) and not liking my original plan any longer, we decided to go see if we could find a light using the rest of our budget (which was $35 at the time). It was much easier than our first plan and it looks great! My husband and I are very happy with the result. Luckily Vicki came up with the easy plan of just adding the planks to the front! My dad helped with the countertop portion and we had to finagle in some cleats to attach it all. We went around and around on ideas for that utility sink until the day that we were actually going to make it. Whew! And we finished it all with a day to spare! We had to put the cabinet doors back on, paint trim, install the folding counter, create that surround on the utility sink, paint the utility sink legs and decorate. (See how we did it HERE.)Īnd just this last weekend we were able to finish everything up! It wasn’t a short list either. While paint was drying on my cabinets we created a folding counter out of 1″ x 8″ boards. (We used THIS spray paint).Īt the beginning I wasn’t sure if we were going to spray the hinges to match the handles or the handles to match the hinges – but boy am I glad we went darker! I actually want to change all of my hardware from my kitchen makeover to match this look now! (Paint supplies, primer, paint, stain, sealant, and spray paint were all items we had on hand.) We also decided to spray the silver handles to match the brown hinges. That was important in this challenge – we used a lot of leftover items we already had. (For more info on painting cabinets click HERE). We also painted those terrible brown cabinets a nice off-white from the same paint we had leftover from our kitchen cabinets we painted previously. ![]() So we ripped down some 1/4″ plywood sheets, nailed them up,(using our new Nail Gun!) and painted them white. And what better way to achieve that than to add some shiplap! (See how we did it HERE) Of course, this being the $100 Room Challenge the shiplap had to be faux in order to fit in the budget. Ta Da! Can you believe the change?! The first thing on my checklist was to add more interest by creating a feature wall. It had nice floors, recent light aqua paint, enough space, a sink, but it was all so….blah. ![]() In this way all vstsound files can be installed by a single double-click.

The Mobile App Design ProcessĬreating an app is one of the biggest projects you’ll undertake as a business. So, we put together this guide to equip you with the knowledge to do just that. It’s vital you get mobile app design right. Design can even help you guide users or customers towards the action you want them to take. Aesthetics are important, but so are a seamless experience and usability. User experience, of course, hinges on mobile app design.ĭesign can make or break an app. Forty-six percent of people will stop using an app due to poor performance. However, the efficacy of an app largely depends on a positive user experience. Mobile apps increase customer engagement and brand loyalty. These journal entries pack some of the funniest bits of the entire DLC. Many of these mimic the tone found in each sister’s chapter: for example, Five’s Memoirs are a series of orders she made to a speciality store for things like high-end cuisine, art she cares little about, and even a variety of sex toys. These Memoirs are a series of relatively short journal entries from that chapter’s sister that unlock as you level up the sister in question. The rest vary in relevance, some focusing on humor instead of serious backstory, but they are all at least entertaining enough to experience once.įurthering this backstory information are the Memoirs for each sister. The most interesting of these in my opinion are easily Two’s chapter, where you learn how she became catatonic in the events of the main game, and Zero’s prologue chapter, which details how she met her original dragon Mikhail. Also, many of the questions you would probably want to know after playing the main game are answered in these chapters, either indirectly or during the actual events of the gameplay. ![]() Because of this, the DLC does a much better job relating each of the sisters to the player than the main game ever did. The story of each of these chapters is obviously tailored to the sister it stars, exploring part of their life before the events of Drakengard 3 occurred. The DLC handily contrives a reason for dragon levels by having One’s dragon, Gabriella, aid each sister. Every chapter also has TONS of in-game VO fleshing out the sister in question and her relationship with her Disciple (including One’s “new” Disciple). ![]() There are a few cutscenes for each chapter, most of them in a new pop-up storybook style that works quite well if not appearing a bit cheaply made. You can level up each sister but on a much smaller scale that caps at 10. Each of them also have their own weapon, one of the four types from the original game, with its own stats and attack patterns–these weapons also unlock for the main game after finishing each chapter. You play as Zero’s sisters for the first time, but this isn’t much more than a model swap with many of the same animations. Each of these chapters is four stages (with one of those being a dragon level) that take about an hour or so to complete in total. There is one for each of the sisters, One through Five, and a new prologue chapter for Zero. Since this DLC is quite expensive ($30 for 6 new chapters), and since Drakengard 3 is already a game not too many people have “got around” to playing yet, I thought it would be useful to some if I did a little overview/review of what the DLC entails, to help all of you decide whether or not to purchase them.įirst off, let’s talk about what you get in the DLC chapters. ![]() The most recent reason? Its DLC, which I bought a few months ago and just recently got around to finishing. I’m here yet again to talk about Drakengard 3–is anyone tired of it yet? All humor aside, it’s a game I think has been tragically overlooked by many, even with its rough edges, and I can’t stop thinking about it for a variety of reasons. The new “pop-up” style for cutscenes–likely cheaper and easier to render than the other ones. ![]() Music videos was an option but I came to the conclusion that it would need more planning which could take a while when I could just find an alternative option. Unfortunately I thought that using the Boris Bike would become very time consuming and might have to be done on over a course of few days if the weather gets involved. The Boris Bike was an idea that I thought would be good in terms of doing the 360 immersive video because with the bike, you can travel anywhere in London and get some good footage which would look good. It would only be people walking by and that the most I would be able to get out of the project. Instant Compare: Swipe your Tiny Planet to the right to compare it to the original photo. Or play around with one of the sample images. A great way to quickly see which photos will work well as a Tiny Planet. I thought that this might not be the most idea place to do the 360 immerse video as it would get boring. The picker has a Tiny Planet Preview mode that turns all thumbnails into Tiny Planets. Train-stations are usually packed and busy so a walk through a train-station. Skateboarding can also be an option because with skateboarding, you can do plenty of tricks which will look good for the 360 camera however, skateboarding is not the safest option when it comes to the project firstly, I do not know how to skateboard which would make the task harder for me to complete. I might finalise this idea just because of what I will be able to record at the museum and it will be an easy process in the end. I have chosen the museum as one of my options because there are several different exhibitions in museums so it might look better with the 360 camera project. You can use it in different ways by perhaps changing the settings or locations. How can you use it in different ways to tell your own narrative? Google Maps use this as their Satellite view which shows you how the area looks. How immersive are the different ways it has been used? ![]() I think that its iconic for Dizzeee Rascal as thats how people remember him by his ‘Bonkerz’ music video and the usage of the “Tiny Planet” effect. The Little Planet image is a stereographic projection that. Not a lot of artists use this feature which makes it unique and different. Documentation: Project Examples and Tips Create a Little Planet.
